Affable Sound Recording Service is interested in recording musical performances. Contact Philip and discuss your project with him. Affable Sound Recording has several musical projects which are organized by central themes. These themes are musical concepts around which musicians contribute their talents and ideas to develop each song to it's final form. Musicians are invited to participate in the actives of recording these songs. Songs are recorded and mixed. If necessary, tracks are added or changed and those judged to finally have merit are collected and included in a compilation CD. The themes of current interest are listed as categories in paragraphs below. CDs will be sold through the retail channels that are available to independent music producers and any profits, after expenses are taken out, from the sale of the CD's will be shared among those that contributed to its creation. If anyone has an idea for an interesting project series, I would like to talk to you about it. |
| Project Category: Instrumental
The voice and the musical instrument are the soul of music. The tone and timbre of these instruments appeals to the nature of what compels us to listen. Recorded solo instruments that are played well permit us to dwell upon, and revisit, their performance. |
| Project Category: Story Time
Many of the best songs are songs that tell a story. Tragic, poignant, funny, historic - they are a great vehicle to record and preserve the past. |
| Project Category: Back From Chicago
In the years around World War Two Negroes living in the rural South were migrating north. They brought their "folk music" with them. In the clubs and joints of the cities where music was played to large audiences, using electric amplifiers became the common practice. Traditional music played with these instruments became known (loosely) as Chicago blues. |
